Zhu Xiangmin

Zhu Xiangmin was born in 1989 in Hunan Province, China. He studied oil painting at the China Academy of Art and graduated from the graduate program in 2015, and now lives and works in Hangzhou.

Zhu Xiangmin's works intend to show power and mystery in his paintings, highlighting light and diffuse lines and forms in a state of pleasure, emphasizing the artist's own consciousness and perception between the layers of different colors and materials, and creating a more fluid sensory experience by filtering and disintegrating the emotions released from the images into thoughts. The "feeling" in the paintings comes from the influence of Beat literature, improvisational jazz, tattoo culture, and sports. Reading and fantasizing about these exotic cultures is the process of discovering a new destiny for oneself and breaking one's own original state, and the paintings are traces of this process. Painting is the trace of recording this process.
